I've been asked a number of times how it is that the Cybersalt Twitter updates are automatically appearing as status updates on my Facebook Account.  It is very easy to do.  Log in to your Facebook account and add the Twitter App to your Facebook.  After that, all you need to do is set up the app with your Twitter account info and follow directions.  The next time you update your Twitter status your Facebook Status will update too!

Making the iPhone work in XP x64 PDF Print E-mail

iphoneinhandWhen I lost my Palm Treo 600 (just a few days before my contract expired) I was quite disappointed.  Of all the electronic things I wanted to spend money - that I did not have on - my cell phone was dead last.  I was going to dial that Treo right into the ground.  But after not finding it for 2 weeks I needed to replace it and the cell phone covenience I was missing.

To make a long story short, I replaced my Treo with an 8 gig iPhone.  Plain and simple: I love my iPhone and it's been awesome.  However, soon after setting it up I did experience a significant disappointment.  iTunes (the syncing software for the iPhone) would not run on Windows XP64 which was installed on my main PC.  My work around at the time was simply to use my other PC (running XP) for iPhone syncing.

I am happy to report, however, that iTunes can run on XP64.  I found a wonderful and simple set of instructions and links to make this happen.  I am now able to sync and back up my iPhone using my computer with XP64 on it.  I hope this link and referral will help anyone who was in the same boat as me.

Increasing Font Size PDF Print E-mail

magnifyIf you are having problems with the font size on the Cybersalt sites or newsletters, here are some tips on how to make them appear larger on your computer system.

On PCs, while holding down the CTRL key, hit the "+" key. The font should enlarge each time you do that. Want to make the font smaller? Hold the CTRL key and hit the "-" key. For those of you with a mouse that has a scroll wheel on it, try holding the CTRL key and scrolling the wheel. That often changes the font size too.

If you are using a MAC, try the above - only replace "CTRL" with "command (or apple)".

If you use "Windows Live Mail" for reading your mail, the above methods will not work.  If you have successfully resized the fonts in one of our newsletters, please e-mail us or comment below so we can let other subscribers know.

Finding Longitude and Latitude on Google Maps PDF Print E-mail

GoogleMaps is great for looking up the location of places, but if you want to know the longitude and latitude of the place you are looking for, there is no obvious way to gather that info.

However, there is a way.  When viewing the location you want co-ordinates for, makes sure it is in the dead center of the GoogleMap you are viewing and then place the following code in the address bar of your web browser:

javascript:void(prompt('',gApplication.getMap().getCenter()));

After you hit enter a box will pop up with the co-ordinates you want.

Find and Replace in SQL Databases PDF Print E-mail

Most of us have used the find and replace function in word processors, but is there a similar feature for finding and things in SQL databases? Yes there is.

First of all, as is always the case, make sure you backup your SQL Database in case something unexpected occurs (especially errors between your keyboard and your seat) while you are working on it.
