"And, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." - Matthew 18:20 Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He gave His disciples directions for carrying on His work after His physical presence would be removed for the earth. Jesus told His disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. We should go forth. It makes no difference whether it is next door, or across the nation, by the grace of God, we are privileged to cross the ocean for Him. this is our task. Jesus said we should baptize in the name of the True God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But baptism is not to be the end, but the beginning of the Christian life. We are told that we should teach all men of all nations to observe all things whatsoever Jesus has commanded. We should regularly examine God's Word to find there the teachings which we need for life here in time and the promise of life here-after in eternity. We can be certain of success only because He promises to go with us and be with us always, everywhere. Christian friends, We never walk alone. We have the promise of His presence: "Lo I am with you always" 'I will never leave you or forsake you." This should move us to be mindful of His presence in all that we do and say. If we believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us, we will depend on Him to help us. Then we will have a growing awareness of Christ's unseen presence. The unseen presence of our God Surrounds us day by day, And when we're blocked by evil schemes, He opens up a way. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The Christian's heart is the Holy Spirit's home. |

More importantly he remained true to scripture when noting that baptism is only the beginning of our walk. We are to go back into the World we just left and bring some lost and dying soul out to Christ and continue this process until He comes again. Like a fireman, we leave no victim we can bring to safety as long as the house is burning and someone's left alive.
I find in my fellowship that they have collectively sat down on the "curb" (aka "pew")and they are so grateful the original "Fireman" rescued them, but they are not going back into that "Fire." For heaven's sake they might get burned!
So the parable in Matthew 25 tells us they have moved from being sheep to goats and they will burn in another sort of fire.
I pray it's not so.
Thank you for this excellent article and to paraphrase the old hymn, "Let's work til Jesus come, and we'll be gathered home.
It's heartening too to see him/her continue with the scripture which tells us that we are are to go back into th World we just left and try to lead other lost souls to Him. Like spiritual firemen we keep going back into the burning building as long as there are people alive in it and as long as it is burning.
It seems that most of my fellowship has figuratively sat down on the "curb" (aka "Pew"), grateful that the the original "Fireman" saved them but refusing, or afraid, to go back into the "building" because they might get burned.
All to sadly, Matthew 25 tells us that these sheep have probably become goats and will burn in a different fire.
I pray not.
Thank you for this excellent article
