Having not released any bears in my lifetime, I am not sure if these pictures depict a good, bad or average bear releasing day.  Whichever it is, I am sure this story is told at their Christmas party every year. It's here in the FunBlog cause it all turned out OK. If only one picture is showing be sure to click the "read more" to see the whole series.

All I said was "come up and see me sometime"

that looks like a fantastically successful bear release to me (my mom is a wildlife rehaber). you seem to be protecting the bear (and i hope protecting yourself!) while the transport was falling down. even as your life was in jeopardy, at least it seems that way at the time i'm sure, you were still trying to push the bear away from getting squished. god bless you and your efforts. for what you have done for the least of these, you have done also to me.

when Jesus said the "least of these", he meant humans, [rest cut by Pastor Tim]

Admittedly, that was pretty funny.
If you are saying at this moment, "What you mean FUNNY?? He could have been killed! AND, he was BITTEN, man!!" That is true. But he WASN'T killed. He WAS bitten!! I can see him right now talking to young and eager new Forest Ranger recruits, "Did I ever tell you 'bout the time I tangled with ol 3-toe, the griz? Here, let me show you where I shoved my foot in his mouth to make him stop attacking a little girl ..." Scars like that are so cool for guys!

However, what was REALLY funny was that the whole time the other guy is STILL sitting in the truck! Notice that except in the LAST picture doing first-aid, the guy is seen through the window just sitting there!

Who woke that bear up? looks like he/she was mad to begin with and was going to take it out on any.
It's a good thing the cage fell on the bear or the Ranger might have been killed!
As for the other guy? I probably would have stayed in the cab too! ;-)

Probably not one of the best releases. Great fodder for safety meetings, though.
