EPIPHANY OF OUR LORD
Isaiah 60:1-6
Ephesians 3:2-12
Matthew 2:1-12 (11)
Psalm 72:1-14
This is the day the church remembers the journey by the wisemen of the East to the young baby Jesus. While we cannot travel to see the baby Jesus, we can be wise people.
The Magi followed the leadership of God. It was not just the star that led them to the house where the baby was, it was the Spirit of God. And when they left it was not by chance but again by God that they were directed to depart to go another way.
God still directs those who are wise enough to listen to Him. God moves in our hearts and minds to the Holy Spirit. The wisemen of our day are people who allow God to offer Him direction in life. Christian friends, By God's ways we can still be led safely to Christ and safely home.
The music playing in the background is as follows:
As with Gladness men of old, did the guiding star behold. As with joy they hailed its light, leading onward, beaming bright; so most gracious LORD, may we, evermore be led by Thee.
Holy Jesus, every day, keep us in the narrow way; And when earthly things are past, bring our ransomed souls at last. Where they need no star to guide, where no clouds Thy glory hide. Amen
