We have a little book mark in our home that says, ?Put your ear down close to your soul and listen hard.? What is it you hear or hope to hear when you listen to the heart beat of your soul? The answer can only be . . .

Too often we think WE are closer to God than others. We forget that it is GOD that draws us closer to Him through the Word, and His Spirit. When we get to the point that we think we know what's in a person's heart, then we are getting a little arrogant. Only God knows my heart, and hopefully, He sees me a little different than the person writing that note.
I am not perfect. But, each day, I try to get closer to God. Like Paul, I have to make a conscious decision to ?press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling?. Only God can make me perfect (mature). If I make mistakes, only God is able to . . .

When any of the building blocks of life, primarily water, carbon and nitrogen are found there is considerable excitement. The same is true for new suns with planets orbiting them. The thought is the same...maybe there is someone else out there.
Various geographic locations have led to speculation about them being doorways to other worlds. The pyramids of Egypt and Central America as well as Machu Pichu in South America have become fuel for people looking for celestial doorways.

Hey, Jason--what's ice cold, sweet and sour, and Mom makes it in the summertime? Now Jason, our then 14-year-old clown, KNOWS and "loves" the answer, but he's not sipping right away--for he's ready to take on a dare and perform for the world! Watch him confidently pick up a juicy lemon slice, pop it in his mouth, and proceed to eat it straight. Watch Mom cringe, and you probably will too--right NOW, unless you're one of those strange people who delight in the SOUR things of life!
One thing's certain--whatever your taste buds, the "sour" stops there, for no one chooses the "sour stuff" in real LIFE. We stand in line at the lemonade stand of life expecting a cool, sweetened drink and sometimes we're surprised with a cruel sour blow--someone forgot to put the sugar in the lemonade! Are you alone? No--join the rest of us, who from time to time, end up with a real life LEMON, a situation as sour as the real lemon Jason can be dared to eat!
And WE're not alone-- for if you study God's Word, real people were sometimes served real lemons too--and they survived. For like it or not, real lemons show . . .

?Unless the divine power has raised you up? I see not how you can go through your glorious enterprise in opposing that abominable practice of slavery, which is the scandal of religion, of England , and of human nature. Unless God has raised you up for this very thing, you will be worn out by the opposition of men and devils. But if God be for you, who can be against you? Are all of them together stronger than God? Oh, be not weary of well-doing. Go on in the name of God, and in the power of His might.?
The challenge for Christians is to stand firm, to be resolute in times of godlessness, to persist in times of divine opportunity, to be humble for the enabling . . .
