Sunday 8:00 a.m. It was early, but I headed for the church. I was scheduled to do the power-point presentation of my husband's sermon and I also had to prepare for my Junior High Sunday School Class. I thought I had lots of time.
Stopping by Tim's for a coffee, I pulled into the drive-through behind a small red car belonging to our associate pastor. I wondered why they were heading to the church so early. When we arrived I noticed there were already a few cars in the parking lot. I thought there must be some kind of meeting happening.
8:15 a.m. As Pastor Jeff got out of his vehicle he said ? "I wonder how many people forgot to set their clocks?" Daylight Saving Time! I'd forgotten all about it. I glanced at my watch.
Now 9:15 a.m. I grabbed the bundle of things I needed for the Sunday School class and dashed for the door.
10:00 a.m. I managed to get the power-point done just as the kids in my class started to arrive. It wasn't until then that the feeling of panic started to subside.

There is a great war that has been declared upon a natural process, a process that is seen in almost every aspect of life. The war that has been declared can be both righteous and vain; it has desires that are both constructive and deceptive. The great war that I speak of is the war we wage against corrosion. Almost everything is subject to corrosion. Wood is subject to decay, as are metal, stone and flesh. Appearances are subject to decay and it is here that our war becomes an exercise in vanity. Morals, values and even faith are subject to decay; our war is an act of righteousness in this area. The corrosion of our values regarding the traditional view of marriage, which in part is a political pawn and in part is the reaction of a post modern world rejecting anything that was as bad, startles us with an awareness of the extent to which decay can go. When you think about it, we have been fighting the corrosion of sin in one form or another since the Garden of Eden.
When I was a kid growing up in the 1950's I remember a car that Ford developed called the Rambler. One of the distinct properties of the Rambler was that they showed how they repeatedly dipped the entire body of the car into a great vat of . . .

Soon she became involved in the daily activities around her. Being a ?people? person herself she enjoys the interaction with staff and residents. One of her favorite pastimes is the game of bingo and she delights in meeting twice a week to play.
On our daily visits we soon observed the frown on her face was turning to a smile of peace and contentment. Walking in one day at the close of game time she greeted us with a big, wide grin and said, "I am the Champion." Questioning her we discovered she had been the winner several times that day and was declared their champion.
Now on this earthly planet we call our temporary home, there have been . . .
