If you have ever done any navigating by the use of map and compass, you know that magnetic north isn't true north.
I suppose most of us know that magnetic north is slowly moving.
I wonder how many know that earth's magnetic poles actually flip every million years or so.
Apparently we are about due for another flip.
While the poles are reversing themselves there may be a time when there is more than one north or south pole.
How is that for confusing!

{mosimage}The day was bright and sunny with just a touch of crispness to it. It was the kind of morning that should have lifted my spirits but as I gazed out the window, my thoughts were far away and all gloomy. I sighed and tried to prepare for the day ahead. I knew it wasn't going to be an easy one. I glanced at the calendar. The words, "Good Friday" made me sigh again. There would be a church service in a couple of hours, then the funeral for a friend immediately afterward. As I got ready I prayed that the Lord would help me get through it all.

A Hurting Word...
Someone, somewhere in our world today aborted a child...our hearts break; the heart of God breaks more. For this was not a piece of tissue; this was a child. We grieve at the high abortion rate in our land; God grieves at the high cost of abortion to a hurting girl. For there will be hurt, both now and later. The trauma and pain has devastated many a young woman. But while we grieve the loss of a precious child, we rest in the comfort that he is with the Lord. The devotional this week is dedicated to the memory of those aborted children, who will never see the light of day, never know the touch of a mother's hand. There will be no preschool, no Little League, no parties--no scraped knees, no untied shoes, no messy rooms. For they are at peace--with Jesus. Let's join Him at the Well and talk about it!

We go through so much turmoil at times and we wonder, "God, are you there? Have you forgotten me?" We don't meant to usurp his power, but we do by even thinking that He would leave us with our troubles, not holding to his promise to be with us.
Hebrews 13:5 [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. |
