Some of the funniest things that have happened to me as a pastor have been unexpected things that happened in front of crowds. For instance, I remember a Christmas Eve service where one of our readers suddenly announced that he was going to chant his reading instead and then proceeded to do so very poorly. There I was sitting on the platform facing everyone, trying to look blessed.
And then there was the time that the water heater for the baptismal tank had broken - leaving the water incredibly cold. It was hard enough to keep a saintly face on when I walked down into the chill, but what do you do when the person entering to be baptized puts a toe in and mutters "Holy $@^*, that's cold!"
Sometimes in life you just have to roll with the punches and flow with the moment. Like this taxi driver who somehow ended up being mistaken for an expert in something else.
