Grandparent's Day

"They and their children and their grandchildren after them will live there forever?

I will make my home among them. I will be their God, and they will
be my people. Ezekiel 37:25,27 (NLT)

Their eyes lit up when my husband and I entered the classrooms. They eagerly introduced us to the room full of excited children and other smiling grandparents.

Mary Kathryn, Levi and Brooke happily shared pages of schoolwork and Brooke even read us a story. We smiled for the camera while having our picture made with these precious kids. And then they filled us with cookies and punch. Yes, in all three rooms!

All of this activity is called Grandparent's Day at the small Christian school our grandchildren attend. And we loved every minute of it!

We are grateful that our children and our grandchildren have been able to make their homes near us. On special occasions, like today, when we can visit their classroom makes the nearness more cherished. Nothing can replace the hugs they wrapped around us just for being there.

Yet, God has promised to generation after generation, wherever we live, that He will live with us forever. Do you and your children and your grandchildren know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior? He desires to make His home among you. His heart's longing is to be your God and for you to be His people.

Invite Him into your life today and He will bide there forever and ever.
