I don't have a video to share with you today. Instead I thought I'd share a fun link with you.
When I was little, I was told that if I started digging a hole and kept going I would end up in China. As a child I didn't have access to the machinery required to test this. As an adult I don't want to test this because I have no room on my calendar to become a political prisoner. OK, I also still don't have access to the machinery to try it.
The fact is, after visiting the "Antipodes Map" website I now know where I'd end up and as you can see from the picture on the right, there would be a big flushing sound just before the end of my quest!
I've just returned from a business trip which involved taking a ferry off of our island and then a 4 hour drive along the Fraser River Valley and up and over the Coquihalla Summit, eventually arriving at the city of Kamloops.
I bought a dash cam for this trip and I may end up putting the trip footage online later. For now I will just share this screen shot from one of my favorite spots along the way: a snow-shed that protects the highway from avalanches. (Clicking the picture should open a bigger version.)
There was no Chicken Thursday mailing last week because Wednesday (my prep day) was my birthday and by the time I was done taking 2 naps, eating pizza and ice cream cake, and playing board games with family I decided to just turn in for the night.
So, yes, for those of you were betting on "make it" in the pool, I did make it to 55! Of course, now that I read what I did on my birthday I may have to bet on "won't make" in the next one..
Today's video share contains handy information for the age old problem (car age, that is) of a fogged up windshield. Click the image above or click here to watch it and you may be on your way a bit faster the next time you need to drive somewhere on a cold, damp morning!
Today is the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. As you know, Grandma Cybersalt and I are involved in ministry to refugees and are in contact with many persecuted Christians.
Today is an opportunity to remind you that you can make the difference in the life of a persecuted Christian - even if only by being a friend to them online to remind them they aren't forgotten. You can learn more about that at: www.cybersalt.org/body-of-christ-connection/
BTW, did you know that a persecuted Christian (SB) helps with the Cybersalt site now? I send him the Rev. James Snyder devotionals and he adds them to the site and then I include them in the mailings. This is just one site I am training him on so he can not only make a living in his country (the one today's video share takes place in) but also eventually train Christians in what he has learned.
Yesterday was 3 years since I retired from pastoring local churches. I know a little bit about the challenges many churches face to have a good quality website that is updated regularly! If that sounds like your church and you are interested in learning how a website built and updated by Cybersalt can work, please email me - [email protected]
In keeping with today's Cybersalt news theme, my video share is one I have shared before. Click the image above or click here to watch it and you'll easily meet people on both sides to pray for.
Thank you to Ruth C. who let me know that in Sunday's mailing the Rev. James Snyder item was missing, with the Cybersalt News appearing a second time in its place. Sorry about that - the last thing we all need right now is extra news! James' article should appear in today's mailing.
Now, back to Chicken Thursday. Today's chicken item is a video I came across this week. This video would also work for an "Owl Thursday" because it's a hoot!
