Susan and I celebrated our 24th anniversary on Monday - and we celebrated in style at the best dining establishment in downtown Jordan River. No, not that Jordan River - this one.
Actually, we were a bit disappointed because it turned out that the place we really wanted to go to has shut down. I was hoping to enjoy a nice meal of chicken fingers, but I know others who have enjoyed the place's "potato wedgies" - which, frankly, sounds mighty uncomfortable to me.
So instead we made do with two $3.00 single scoop ice cream cones because sometimes you can't have memories unless you make them!

2010 is the 100th anniversay of the Canadian Navy and since I live in the city that is home to Canada's Pacific Fleet I'm excited about some of the festivities that are planned.
On Tuesday the Navy marched downtown and was granted "Freedom of the City" by the mayor. Many of those in uniform had rifles equipped with bayonnets so asking for it really just a moot point.
Anyway, Susan and I went downtown to watch the parade and were quite impressed. Here is some of the video I shot (Youtube restricts uploads to 10 minutes and it took 14 for the parade to pass) that will help you get a perspective of just how many marched - complete with some shots showing just how far the parade stretched.
Thanks to Shirley who took this picture of Susan and me at a reception we attended.
That leather coat I am wearing was my dad's. Many years ago he was getting rid of it because it was out of style (the 80s did that to a lot of 70's fashion). I took it off his hands because it was leather and I was a teenager.
I'm told it is back in style now - though I've worn it for years not caring if it was or not. As you can see, Susan is happy it's back in style as she is often seen in public with me.
But hey, who do I have to impress? I've got the girl!
Why wife and I recently retweaked our finances in order to put to sleep some consumer debt we have created. So when we were super busy this Christmas time it was that much easier to not send out Christmas cards.
However, yesterday my secretary sent me a beautiful online Christmas card - well more than that it was a musical slide show - that so impressed me I forwarded it to my wife who then used the same site and system to easily create a wonderful greeting for us to send out to our friends and family. It totally fit our budget (free) without looking cheap or kitchy.
I highly recommend it. The following banner will get you started.
The number of people who care about our opinions can be pretty low and the ones that do care and would give us something for them is even less.
However, the Ipsos I-Say Panel site wants to know what you think and they'll give you a chance to win prizes and earn points for telling them. You might even win $5000.
