"Walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given Himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor." Eph. 5:2
What a wonderful place this world might be if all men walked in love and were guided by the motive of love in their thinking, speaking and acting. It never has been so and never will be so.
Why then, this appeal to walk in love? Let us note that this appeal is made only to believers in Christ, to those who believe that Christ loved us and hath given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice." Only we who at the foot of Christ's cross have by His blood been cleaned of our inborn sinful selfishness can walk in a pure love that seeks nothing for self. Christ's sacrifical love for us has become Christ's love in us. It is this that we are capable of walking in love.
Christian friends, Sincere believers in Christ need the admonition to be followers and imitators of Christ, to love one another as He loved us. Such admonations and appeals are not in vain. They bear fruit. All over the world we find noble Christian men and women and youths who are truly walking in love.
Help me to walk so close to Thee That those who know me best can see I live as godly as I pray, And Christ is real from day to day.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - For a Christlike walk, keep in step with Jesus.
