HYMN- Count Your Many Blessings
"Blessed be the LORD, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Psalm 68:19
Read the entire 68 Ch. of Psalms and recognize the joyous note of thanksgiving which runs through it. Temporal and spiritual blessings are listed, for which the recipients are to manifest their gratitude to the gracious God. And then, right in the midst of the Psalm, comes this spontaneous outburst of joyous thanksgiving; : "Blessed be the LORD, who daily loadeth us with benefits even the God of our salvation."
"God daily loads us with benefits." In this expression we have a thought that ought to be considered carefully. A gospel hymn comes to mind: "Count Your Many Blessings" (which you should hear in the background) If we carry out this suggestion we are overwhelmed at the goodness of God, who literally loads us daily with countless benefits.
Christian friends, As children of His grace we are doubly grateful that this God of the nations is the God of our salvation, the God who in Christ Jesus forgives us all our sins and who will guard and keep us, and finally bring us to His Kingdom of Glory, where there is fullness of joy and where there are pleasures forevermore.
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - A thankful heart enjoys blessings twice, when they're received and when they're remembered.
