"So receive him in the LORD with all joy; and honor such men, for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete your service to me." Phil. 2:29,30
The Christians of Philippi sent Epaphroditus to Paul with news and with a gift for his needs. During his stay with Paul he suffered a serious illness nearly fatal. But God in His mercy granted him recovery. Paul thanks God that his fellow worker is restored to health. He urges his readers to honor Epaphroditus, for he nearly died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to serve Paul. Now joy fills the hearts of his friends, for Epaphroditus can continue to bring the love of Christ to others.
Christian friends, Christian life brings us the personal joy of thanking God when He restores to health. We pray at the bedside of loved ones. We pray for the recovery of Christian friends and family. We ask God to spare pastors and teachers for more work in His kingdom. It is a joy to see them restored by the mercy of God. We thank God for granting longer service to His workers. We honor people whose health is restored, for they have borne the burden of illness in love to God.
True greatness does not come to those Who strive for worldly fame; It lies instead with those who choose It serve in Jesus' name.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - When you do little things for others, you do big things for Jesus.
