The Bible always helps if it is used in the way which God wants. This is the spirit in which we should approach the Bible:
1. Come to it with a sincere prayer that God Himself would make His
words clear to you and that you may follow them. Guard against going to
the Bible merely to get more knowledge and to make a show of what you

2. Accept the Bible as it reads. The words of the Holy Spirit should count for much more than our own judgment and reason.
3. Do not despise that which is simply set forth in the Bible and that which is easy to comprehend.
4. Be on guard against taking up only difficult passages about which there is much dispute. If we want to discover something unusual in the Bible and then make a show of our learning, we are trifling with holy things.
5. What you learn from the Bible, apply at once to your own life, and use it for the edification of others.
Christian friends, Let us all faithfully use this precious treasure. It is the only place to find spiritual nourishment and strength for each day.
Give me, O LORD, a strong desire
To look within Your Word each day;
Help me to hide it in my heart,
Lest from its truth my feet would stray.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The Bible is the Bread of Life, and it never becomes stale.
