"A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will perish."
- Proverbs 19:9
God's judgment upon those who lie seems to be extremely harsh. They who
willfully continue to lie will not enter into heaven. (Rev. 21:27 &
22:15) Lying, though committed so often by so many, is a sin highly
offensive to God, because a liar exalts men and degrades God. He knows
very will that God knows the lie, but that doesn't . . .

God's judgment upon those who lie seems to be extremely harsh. They who willfully continue to lie will not enter into heaven. (Rev. 21:27 & 22:15) Lying, though committed so often by so many, is a sin highly offensive to God, because a liar exalts men and degrades God. He knows very will that God knows the lie, but that doesn't make any difference to him, so long as man doesn't know. Such a person shows that he has a great fear of man and no fear of God. He doesn't care what God thinks of him, but he is worried about what man may think of him. This is idolatry and is manufacturing a god who doesn't exist. God cannot condone this in any of His children.
Lying can be so easy. It often seems like the best way to avoid a sticky problem or to protect ourselves from the results of bad choices. My father once told me, "if you tell one lie, you will have to tell seven more to cover it up."
Christian friends, Don't lie. It's one tough command from the LORD, but it is the best way to please Him and win the respect of other people.
LORD, cleanse my heart of all deceit
And teach me to be true;
Help me to have integrity
In all I say and do.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Lying covers a multitude of sins--temporarily. To avoid lying, do nothing that needs a coverup.
