"Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him."
- Job 13:15
Faith such as this does not live in a valley between the cradle and the
grave. It rises to higher ground from which it can view life in its
larger meaning. Looking beyond the scenes of this world, it says: I
know that my Redeemer lives and that He shall stand at the latter day
upon the earth; and though, after my skin, worms destroy this body, yet
in my flesh shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes
shall behold and not another."
Such was the faith of Job. He had been in the depths. While there, he
gave expression, in his shortsightedness, to sentiments which he later
sorely regretted. But he rose to bigger heights. He saw this life as a

Under His guidance the experiences of life turned his steps toward heaven. Job now is ready to trust in Him , even though He slay him.
Christian friends, our lives, too, must be lived in the pattern of eternity. Our earthly possession, our pleasures, our friendships, will be valued accordingly. When losses and sorrows come they will be viewed as part of God's plan for a blessed eternity. "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him."
When Jesus calls me, I will go;
I will, I will
When it is best to answer "No."
I will, I will,
I'll shun temptation's pathway wide,
And journey by my Savior's side,
And in His peace and love abide.
I will, I will.
When in the conflict I should stay
I'll ask for wisdom every day;
We cannot know till we begin
How hard it is to conquer sin;
But by and by a crown I'll win'
I will, I will
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Trials test trust.
