"Comfort ye, comfort ye My people."

There is much need of comfort today by God's people. Sin has produced a
harvest of misery in the world. The present war has added immeasurably
to the sufferings and sorrows of God's people. The ravages of war reach
the homes of Christians and non-Christians alike. But for the
Christians, for those how are God's people, adopted in His beloved Son
Jesus Christ, there is always comfort. The pulpit must bring its
measure of comfort from the precious Word. The believer may search the
Scriptures at home and . . .

The pulpit must bring its measure of comfort from the precious Word. The believer may search the Scriptures at home and find one precious Word of comfort after another. Today any believer may say and pray with David: "Remember the Word unto Thy servant, upon which Thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me." Ps 119:49,50.
Christian friends, much comfort will also be derived from the hymns of consolation that are based on divine promises. Let us use them prayerfully.
When we experience suffering,
God's comfort will abound;
For tribulations teach us where
True comfort can be found.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters.
