"Thou remainest; Thou art the same, and Thy years shall not fail."
- Hebrews 1:11,12
This week has brought us into a new year. As the years come and go, we
realize more and more that we live in a vacillating world where
transition is the regular pattern of our days. This reminds me when I
was little and loved to look into a kaleidoscope I got at Christmas.
The scenes of our daily lives shift as we move toward the greatest
change of all, our entrance into eternity. You might remember this hymn
we sing in church; "Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day,
earth's joys grow din, its glories . . .
"Thou remainest; Thou art the same, and Thy years shall not fail."

The scenes of our daily lives shift as we move toward the greatest change of all, our entrance into eternity. You might remember this hymn we sing in church; "Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day, earth's joys grow din, its glories pass away; Change and decay in all around I see, O Thou who changest not, abide with me." How true and nothing is secure, nothing is certain, nothing that is except the Almighty. He is the only One in whom "is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" Jas. 1:17
The Attributes of God are not altered by the shifting sands of time. His love, Power, Advocacy, and Care are unchanging. Christians friends, you can face this year, 2007, with courage by putting your faith in the God who is always the same.
Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received her frame,
For everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Faith in the unchanging God makes the uplook good, the outlook bright, and the future glorious.
