"A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."
- Matthew 7:18
Jesus declared that the quality of the fruit is determined by the
condition of the trees. If they are diseased and decaying, they will
not bring forth a good harvest no mater how carefully they are pruned
and watered. Only healthy trees will give a profitable yield. Our LORD
used this analogy to warn His followers against false religious leaders
who came "in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
These are counterfeit Christians and need to be spiritually cleansed.
Until this renewing takes place, they cannot bring glory to God or be
useful in His service.

Have you read any articles on the ills of our society? Have any of those articles acknowledged God or recognized the problem of man's sinfulness. How can these writers think they could bring about a world of peace and prosperity without the transforming power of Christ. They remind me of a fruit farmer who thinks he can reap a rich harvest from decaying trees. There are many trees in the orchard of life, but only the good ones produce a good crop. WHAT KIND OF TREE ARE YOU?
If you are tried of the load of your sin,
Let Jesus come into your heart;
If you desire a new life to begin,
Let Jesus come into your heart.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Man needs more than a new start; he needs a new heart!
