"They brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions."
Daniel 6:16

Daniel got into the lions' den because he continued his custom of praying before the open window. It is still easy to get into the lions' den, to suffer for our faith's sake. A Christian business man may forfeit a profitable sale because he refuses to resort to questionable practices. A father may lose his job because he is . . .

A father may lose his job because he is faithful to Christian principles. The confession of faith which we fearlessly make in the circle of unbelievers may bring ugly vibes. But we must dare to be Dainiels. We must obey God rather than men, even though it may mean going into the lions' den. Jesus warns: "Fear not then which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." After all, "what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?

Christian friends, We know that Daniel got out of the lion's den. What are our chances of getting out? Surely God's promise is still in effect, when he says:
"Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver thee." But if God wills that we should not get out of the lions' den for a while, it is enough to know that God assures us: "My grace is sufficient for thee." When we realize the nature of that warfare and the forces against us, it's foolish to enter the battle with anything except our God-given weapons.

Does all the world seem against you
And you're in the battle alone?
It's often when you are most helpless
That God's mighty power is known.
