"Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Isaiah 6:8
God has given His children various commands, such as "Go, and teach all nations," Preach the Gospel to every creature," Go and tell" The only way in which the Gospel is spread is through the believers. The angels don't do it, except on extremely rare occasions. The unbelievers don't do it since it would be against their convictions to do so. Certainly the devil won't do it, because he is intent on destroying the works of God.
In view of the fact that God has made us Christians responsible for the spreading of His kingdom, it is very hard to understand how we can ever be lazy or negligent in the matter. If we were to cause the physical death of a fellow man through recklessness or carelessness, we would be greatly grieved. Yet it is entirely possible that through neglect of prayer, through failure to speak a proper word of instruction, encouragement, or admonition or through refusal to give our money or services for God's kingdom, we contribute to the spiritual death and eternal damnation of a redeemed fellow man. God forbid that we ever become guilty of such a sin. My grandmother gave me a plaque that was on her mirror and it remains on my mirror. Only one life will soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last.
Christian friends, Every one of us ought to be ready to say with Isaiah, "Here am I; send me" A young Christian who has the qualifications and desire should consider becoming a pastor or teacher of the Church. All should be ready to give time, talents, and treasures for the teaching of the Word of God.
Oh, let us be faithful to Jesus, The faith we confessed let's renew, And ask Him this question each morning; "LORD, what will You have me to do?"
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The world crowns success; God crowns faithfulness.
