You may have read the Scripture you’ve landed on before. This time, in a single moment of clarity the Holy Spirit sheds His light and reveals how this word is just for your unique circumstances on that given day.

This is all a part of God’s amazing grace. He is a God of both the smallest and greatest details. He cares so deeply for His beloved children. His loving attention is displayed by how He takes the time to minister to our individual needs. When you think about that, it is no wonder that our hearts fill with thanksgiving as we hum the phrase ... “Oh how He loves you and me.”

Two Scriptures jumped off the pages these past weeks and stayed with me throughout my days.

I had been going through a challenging time and I was having moments where I felt weak. Yet, God in His grace and great wisdom constantly reminded me that He was my source of strength.

Consider the verse from 2 Samuel 22:30 “With Your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.”

Even when we already know these profound and obvious truths, this was a good and timely reminder of Who is in control.

I also came across this verse from Deuteronomy 33:12 “Let the beloved of the LORD rest secure in Him, for He shields him all day long, and the one the LORD loves rests between His shoulders.”

What a beautiful word picture. Immediately, I visualized our loving Shepherd carrying a lamb over His shoulders. The Shepherd is doing the labour ... He is strong, sure-footed and tireless. The lamb need not expend any energy whatsoever. The lamb confidently rests and leans into the strong shoulders of the Shepherd. Like the lyrics from the old hymn, written by E.A. Hoffman so wonderfully reminds us, “What have I to dread, what have I to fear, leaning on the everlasting arms. I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, leaning on the everlasting arms. Leaning, leaning safe and secure from all alarms, leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.”

I received these wonderful and amazing reminders through Scripture and song from my faithful Father.

Add to that, as I was leaving for an appointment one morning, I turned on the radio and the William Tell Overture began playing ... now that’s music with which to scale a wall!

Don’t you love it!
