A close-up of a loon swimming in water. - photo by Susan PageI glide like silk upon the water
The lake as smooth and clear as glass
The breeze so soft it's like a feather
I drift and dream and breathe at last

My paddle dips, the sunlight sparkles
A dragonfly lands upon my knee
My fears are gone, my spirits lifted
I sense and feel the God who sees

And just when things could be no sweeter
A Loon bobs up and visits me
With droplets on his beak and plumage
His eyes, they seem to say, come see

Observe the Father God who loves you
He made the stars, the birds, the trees
He stills the storms and sends the rainbow
He is your God the God who sees
